So this was the beginning of many summer adventures!
Father's Day weekend we went camping in Buena Vista. It was the kids first non-beach camping adventure and we all had a great time. Buena Vista had a fun little town with lots of community activities. As you can see it was beautiful and the weather was perfect.
This picture is high above our camp site. We went for a hike and were surprised at how high we climbed with the kids. They turned out to be quite the rock climbers.
The kids were so dirty and they loved every minute of it. I thought I was going to have to clean them in their sleep. We had so much fun that we decided to camp again the following weekend at a different campsite in Bailey. Buena Vista was about 2 hrs. south of us and Bailey about an hr. You can see how the terrain changes as you head further south. Our first weekend was a trial experience. We stayed at a KOA campsite with plenty of amenities. We ventured in to unknown territory with the second.....the only perks of the Bailey campsite included the beautiful wooden porta potty (which Buzz refers to as NOT A FLUSH POTTY AND THERFORE NOT ACCEPTABLE FOR USE) The kids did great however and Buzz and Daddy even got to see a fox. We had the entired campsite to ourselves and it was hard to go back to the noise after a few days of quiet nights and Mike's excellent campfire buffets.
