Shortly after the new year we welcomed our 3rd and final pooch to the Kozfam......our neighborhood limits pets/dogs to three......and this has proved to be a useful, forced limitation.....otherwise we may have hitched a uhaul to the Saturn and loaded every pup from the shelter when we adopted Max and Mia. Maci had a unique story to accompany her arrival. Mike was flipping through craigslist one evening and landed on an add looking for a good home for a lost/found yellow lab. The family tried for weeks to find the owner with no luck......they couldn't keep her and were in search of a family that was a perfect fit. Mike and I went a few rounds about it......THREE DOGS??? We must be kidding right? We all love our new little friends but Mike has developed a particular fondness........we were discussing over the phone.....we decided no......Mike called back within one second ......he just wanted to go see her.......I started making room......within three days of meeting Maci and a vet visit we discovered Maci's original owner.......somehow Maci had started in New Mexico and traveled to Colorado an hour east of Littleton. WHAT??? She had been missing about 6 months. Her former mommy was so happy to know that she was o.k and decided that she would be well suited with us. The first week that Maci was settling in we took three trips to the dog park. One that started out sunny and turned windy and cold so quickly that we retreated to the car to search for any extra clothing we could find......thanks to a few extra Buzz jackets and Mike's giant brown sweater we stayed for lunch and another walk with our three amigos. Maci is sweet and energetic and full of life.......she fits right in with Mia and Max and absolutely completes the set!
